Tai Chi - Sun 73 - Age 50+
This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.
This level 2 class is open to participants who have previously taken a Sun Style class, a Sun 73 class and/or have some experience with the basic Sun Style moves. Each class will concentrate on learning/reviewing a move, then practicing the entire form.
Tai chi is sometimes described as 'meditation in motion' as its movements cultivate inner peace, power, body awareness, and overall wellness. Tai Chi has been shown to help with balance, coordination, joint and muscle strength and flexibility among other health benefits.
Although tai chi was developed as a martial art, this class teaches a non-competitive relaxed style which focuses on safety and balance.

Instructor: Chris Curtis
Bio: Chris Curtis was certified as an instructor of Tai Chi for Arthritis/Fall Prevention in 2012. After retiring from a career in community building and education with the government, she was diagnosed with arthritis and began exploring ways to deal with pain and physical limitations. Through a physical therapist, she was introduced to tai chi and felt an immediate connection with tai chi. Chris leads classes throughout Vermont as a volunteer for Age Well Vermont. “Tai chi has changed my life, both spiritually and physically. Sharing tai chi with others was a natural progression for me.”
