Epic Driving focuses on defensive driving techniques, including crash avoidance, situational awareness, zone control, mindful driving, and developing good driving habits. This course includes 30 hours of engaging, differentiated, and responsive classroom activities and weekly, individually scheduled, behind-the-wheel lessons consisting of 45 minutes of instruction and 45 minutes of observation.
This course is for teenagers ages 15-17 with a valid Vermont learner’s permit.
Attendance in all scheduled class sessions is required for successful course completion. Please do not register for the program if there are dates you cannot attend.
Driving appointments will be scheduled once a week. Students must be available for before—and/or after-school appointments.

- There will be a remote orientation session to begin the program
- 3rd Party DMV Road Testing offered for qualifying enrolled students

You are only required to pay a $110 non-refundable deposit to secure a spot in the program.
The remaining balance is due two (2) weeks before the start date of the program.
2026 Spring Session
Wednesdays 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Sundays 10:00a-12:00p.
Wednesday classes are remote, Sundays classes are held in person.

There is a mandatory orientation on March 4 from 6:00p-8:00p

2026 Summer Session
Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Sundays 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Classes are a combination of remote and in person. Classes below in blue are remote, classes in bold are in person.

Wednesday classes are remote, Sunday classes are held in person.

2026-27 Winter Session
Wednesdays 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Sundays 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m..
Wednesday classes are remote, Sunday classes are held in person.
Scheduled dates: December 6, 9, 13, 16, 20, 23, January 6, 10, 13, 17, 20, 24, 27, 31, February 3, 7
There is a mandatory orientation on December 6 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Driving appointments will be 1 1/2 hours in length and only once a week for students. Driving appointments are separate from scheduled group classes.
Registration Information
- Online registration is available with a credit card (a processing fee of $2 or 3.5 %, whichever is higher, plus 10 cents is added). Using this option, your balance is paid in full, and the person is enrolled.
- If a non-refundable deposit is available it can be paid for online.
- Any remaining balance is due before the registered person can attend. Some programs have a specific date when the balance is due and must be paid before that date.
- Online registrations close the night before the start date of the program or on Thursday evening if the program starts over the weekend.
- Offline registration is available at the Recreation Dept. with a check or cash. You have to come in to do this. Please be sure to create a Household Account online before coming in if you don't have one already.
- Registrations are NOT accepted over the phone or by email.
- REGISTRATION DEADLINES:
- 1. If a deadline is posted on the registration page, this is to ensure that there are enough participants to offer the program.
- 2. Program numbers are checked one week before the start date to see if the minimum number is met.
- 3. No registrations are accepted after the second meeting of the program.
- 4. If a program is Full, register for the waiting list using the Online Payment Option. No fee is charged.
- CANCELLATIONS & TRANSFERS:
- 1. Must be made by the Dept. You cannot do it online. Please contact us to cancel or transfer a program.
- 2. The Dept reserves the right to cancel or consolidate any programs that do not meet the minimum participation required.
- 3. If canceled, a full refund will be issued. Participants will be notified by email of any changes or cancellations.
- 4. If you cancel a program the refund policy will be put into effect.
- Don’t Wait! Register Early! (A program might be canceled due to low enrollment or filled).
