Drivers Ed

Epic Driving focuses on defensive driving techniques including crash avoidance, situational awareness, zone control, mindful driving, and developing good driving habits. This course includes 30 hours of engaging, differentiated, and responsive classroom activities and weekly, individually scheduled, behind-the-wheel lessons consisting of 45 minutes of instruction and 45 minutes of observation. 

This course is for teenagers ages 15-17, with a valid Vermont learner’s permit.

Attendance in all scheduled class sessions is required for successful course completion. Please do not register for the program if there are dates you cannot attend.

Behind-the-wheel lessons will be scheduled individually.

There will be an Orientation session to begin the program on Sunday Sept. 29.  Time and location will be provided by the instructor.

2024 Fall Session:
   Wednesday 6:00-8:00p and Sundays 10:00a-12:00p. 
   Mandatory virtual parent/student orientation 9:00-11:00 AM, September 29.
   Scheduled dates: October 2, 6, 9, 13, 16, 20, 23, 27, 30 November 3, 6, 10, 13, 17.
   Driving appointments will be 1 1/2 hour in length and only once a week for students.   
 

Registration Information:
  • All Registrations are done online and there are two payment options at Checkout.
  • 1. ONLINE PAYMENT OPTION- is with a credit card (processing fee of $2 or 3.5 %, whichever is higher, plus 10 cents is added). Using this option your balance is paid in full and the person is enrolled.
  • 2. OFFLINE PAYMENT OPTION- is with a check or cash. Using this option, you have to drop off payment at the Rec. Dept., or use the drop box at the back entrance to the Town Hall Building- 7900 Williston Rd.
  • NOTE: When using the Offline Payment Option, the person is not enrolled until a check or cash is received and processed.
  • The Offline Payment Option closes a week before the start of the program.
  • When the Offline Payment Option is closed you can come into the Rec. Office to register and pay before the deadline.
  • Please create a household account before coming in if you don't have one already.
  • Online Payment Option closes the night before the start date of the program or on Thursday evening if the program starts over the weekend.
  • Program numbers are checked one week before the start date to see if the minimum number is met.
  • No registrations are accepted after the second meeting of the program.
  • If a program is Full, register for the waiting list using the Online Payment Option. No fee will be charged.
  • Williston Residents can apply for Financial Assistance if needed. See Link Below
  • Don't Wait! Register Early! (A program might be canceled due to low enrollment).
