Registrations are accepted if space is available. A wait list will be started.
Registration after the above date has to be done at the Recreation Dept.
Program Information:
The Rookie Basketball programs are designed for individuals who want to learn, play, and experience the game in a fun, engaging atmosphere. Each program offers children the opportunity to learn the game, improve their skills, and enjoy playing. Programs begin in January and meet on Saturdays for one hour. There are separate programs for boys and girls.
Rookies 2 is a program just for 2nd graders to learn and prepare for the 3rd-4th Basketball programs through practices and scrimmages.
Note: The Rookies and Rookies 2 programs will be combined if there are not enough registered participants to offer two separate programs.
Kick-Off: The Programs start with a Kick-Off on the first Saturday.
Practices/Scrimmages: Saturdays- 1/2 hour practice followed by 1/2 hour scrimmage each week.
Equipment:
All equipment is provided for practices and games. Players do not need to bring a ball.
Dress to be active for practice and games
A Mouth Guard is recommended
Volunteer Coaches Needed!
To make the programs successful, we need your help! We rely on parents and community members to volunteer their time to coach groups of children seeking a positive youth sports experience. Please sign up to coach when you register your child, or volunteer if you don't have children in the program. **Team size is dependent on the number of volunteer coaches.
Coach's Meeting is planned for Saturday, January 9, during the Kick-off times.
